Jardins de l'Écoumène's organic Hopi Red Dye amaranth does not in the garden and on your plate. Its tender young purple-red leaves are a divine addition to soups, while the glossy black seeds produced by the spectacular wine-red flower spikes can be made into flour or cooked like corn kernels.
The plant grows up to 150 cm high, including flower spikes 30 to 60 cm long. It is grown in full sun. This variety requires a stratification period of 7 days in the cold.
