150 years ago, the Guaranis, an Indian people living along the Parana River in South America, revealed to the first Spanish explorers the secret of survival in the jungle, which consisted in drinking an infusion of the leaves of a sacred drink called Caa. Centuries later, the gauchos of the Pampas, Argentina's vast plains, still maintained the tradition, drinking yerba mate throughout the day to invigorate themselves.
