Rich and creamy, Prana's organic unroasted cashews are a pleasure to nibble and a highly versatile cooking ingredient.
The cashew nut grows under a fruit called the cashew apple. The nut is separated from the fruit by hand, dried in the sun for several days and cooled under the trees before being shelled and packed. Their cultivation is labor-intensive and has enabled farming communities to prosper thanks to the higher-than-average wages and sustainable trade principles established by our supplier.
Not only are cashews delicious, they're also versatile in the kitchen. You can enjoy them as they are, or roast them in the oven at 325°C for 15 minutes, until golden brown. They transform wonderfully into milk, butter and even vegetable-based cheese! Sprinkle in curries and stir-fries for an added crunch.
