Whole roasted buckwheat is roasted to accentuate its characteristic flavors. It can be used as a side dish to replace potatoes, rice and pasta. It can also be made into a warm, comforting beverage.
100% Canadian organic buckwheat. Peanut, nut, egg, milk, sesame, corn and mustard free.
Bring 1 cup (250 mL) water to a boil. Carefully pour in 1/2 cup (90 g) buckwheat. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer without stirring until grains are tender and water has evaporated (8-10 minutes). Halfway through cooking, add 1/2 cup (75 g) of sautéed vegetables. A good substitute for potatoes and rice.
