Gardening tips

Sow directly outdoors once the soil has warmed up and there's no risk of frost, generally from late May to early June. Bury seeds about 1.5 cm deep, in full sun in well-drained soil, and space plants 20-30 cm apart, with rows 60-90 cm apart. Keep the plot weeded during initial growth, as young plants do not tolerate competition. Undemanding once established, Ba-Ye-Ki sorghum reaches maturity in around 100 to 110 days. Harvest in late summer or early autumn when panicles are dry and grains are hard and colorful.
