Camino chocolates are certified organic. What does this mean?

It means there are no chemical additives used in the cultivation and processing of the ingredients right up to the final product. Camino organic chocolates contain no genetically modified ingredients or artificial flavors. Nor do they contain ingredients such as corn syrup solids, vegetable oil or chemicals like dipotassium phosphate or sodium aluminosilicate.

What are the values behind Camino products?

Camino is committed to the well-being of its partner producers, consumers and the environment. This commitment, along with the organization's core values of ethical trade and sustainable agriculture, means, for example, that there is no use of GMOs.
Operating as a cooperative, Camino has chosen to identify with its producer partners by opting for a form of enterprise that incorporates the same values of democracy, equity, solidarity and transparency.

What's the difference between natural and alkalized cocoa powder?

Natural cocoa powder has an intense chocolate taste and a light color. It has not been treated with an alkalinization process, and is a cocoa powder that has retained its natural levels of acidity.
Alkalized cocoa powder can be recognized by its reddish color. The taste is mild, as acidity and bitterness have been neutralized by the alkalinization process (Dutch process).
