La Boite à Grains is pleased to announce the acquisition of Sol Épicerie Santé. As of August 2020, the Sol store in Aylmer joins the growing family of La Boite à Grains Supermarché Santé family, which now includes four branches in Gatineau, an online storeand over 100 employees.
The SOL store is now called La Boite à Grains (Aylmer).
A smooth, gradual transition
- The transition between the two entities will be smooth, allowing time for the two management teams to gradually implement the integration project.
- The product and service offering will gradually expand, and Sol Épicerie Santé will officially become La Boite à Grains.
- During the transitional period, Sol will remain an independent store managed by the Group. La Boite à Grainsfor the time being.
- From November 10, 2020, prices and promotions at La Boite à Grains Aylmer will be the same as all other stores. La Boite à Grains.

La Boite à Grains
Co-founded by Pierre Ménard, La Boite à Grains celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2020. The Gatineau-based company specializing in natural and organic products has become a benchmark in the Outaouais region. The first store opened on boulevard Saint-Joseph in 1980.
Between 1987 and 1994, it moved four times to larger premises on the same street, La Boite à Grains continued its expansion by opening two other stores in other parts of the city. The boulevard Gréber store opened in 2004, and the boulevard du Plateau store in 2016.
In 2017, the launch of the online shopping platform (www.laboiteagrains.com) allows all Canadians to discover the selection of over 12,000 natural and organic products from La Boite à Grains.
La Boite à Grains has twice been awarded the Prix Excellor in 1999 and 2010, presented by the Outaouais Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recognizing the company of the year. It also won the provincial award in 2000, La Boite à Grains received the Ordre du Mérite du Commerce de Détail from the Conseil québécois du commerce de détail.
Sol Épicerie Santé
Originally known as Sol Aliments Naturels, Sol Épicerie Santé was founded in 1981 in Aylmer. Over the years, and thanks to the dedication of its owners and employees, the store has grown, moving several times to larger premises.
A recognized player in the Aylmer community, Sol is a certified organic grocery store. It offers a full range of bulk products, groceries and supplements.
