Turmeric paste
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup turmeric
- ½ cup filtered water
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Preparation:
- Mix all ingredients in a small saucepan
- Heat over medium heat for no more than 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened
- Let cool and store turmeric paste in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
Homemade cashew milk
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of cashews
- 5 cups of water
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 drizzle of maple syrup
Preparation:
- Soak cashews for 30 minutes, rinse and drain
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth and creamy
- Can be stored in a Mason jar in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.
Golden Milk
Ingredients:
- ¼ tsp. turmeric paste
- 1 cup of homemade cashew milk
- 1 tsp. coconut oil
- 1 tsp. finely grated fresh ginger
- 1 pinch of ground cardamom or cinnamon, to taste
- 1 pinch ground vanilla or ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- Maple syrup
Preparation:
- In a small saucepan, mix all ingredients and heat for a few minutes
- Once heated, blend for a few seconds in a blender to emulsify.
