Marcel's favorite

For all those who store at our Plateau location, Marcel is a familiar face. As the store manager, he is always available to answer your questions and make your visit a success.

Marcel started his adventure with us at the Saint-Joseph store and has been part of the la boite à grains. Today, he presents you his favorite, the coffees of the Quebec company Café Mystique.

Why Café Mystique?

I am a big coffee drinker. I have one in the morning and one in the early afternoon to give me extra energy. When I had the opportunity to taste Café Mystique's, I immediately appreciated the balance of flavors and acidity. These are quality products, certified organic and fair trade. They are made here in Quebec, and with great values.

Café Mystique has a nice selection, do you prefer any of them?

The Nicaragua and the Equit-Espresso are among my favorites!

Let's talk about food. What is a healthy diet for you?

I'm a sporty person and I'm careful about what I eat. The first thing that comes to my mind is to limit the consumption of sugars, white sugar and also salt.

The second thing is to prefer and eat a lot of organic fruits and vegetables. This is a message that I relay to everyone around me, because it makes a real difference in being healthy. And it's a shift that can be easily made, we have beautiful local farms in the Outaouais that offer superb organic fruits and vegetables.

Do you have a favorite meal of the day?

I would have to say dinner, because that's when I take a little more time to prepare good meals. I eat a lot of vegetables, accompanied by a salmon filet or a good piece of meat cooked on the barbecue.

Do you have any healthy habits to share?

Sport is so important, at all levels. It keeps you fit and healthy. Even on a mental level, it does a lot of good.

I'm a big fan of cycling, I ride about 6000 km a year. Gatineau Park is ideal for that!

One of my dreams is to be able to tackle the French and European passes. I hope this will come true soon!
