Mumm's Sprouting Seeds is a great family story that began in the mid-1970s in Saskatchewan. Maggie and Jim Mumm, who had a small organic farm, decided to grow alfalfa seeds. After a period of testing and refining techniques, the idea of going more global in the market was born, which would coincide with the official creation of the company in 1982.

"Saskatchewan offers an excellent climate for producing hardy and robust sprouting seeds. says Maggie Mumm. "The demand is high, and our farm could no longer meet it on its own. So we partnered with several organic farms in Saskatchewan, and also other places for varieties that require a different type of climate." says Lisa Mumm, daughter of the founding couple, who actively joined the business starting in 2012.
All batches of Mumm's organic seeds and microgreens organic seeds and micro pods undergo rigorous quality testing, which includes color, taste, appearance and mold levels.
