Step 1
Place a sheet of nori on the makisu and spread a cup of sushi rice evenly over it, leaving 2 cm of clearance at the top of the sheet. Moisten your fingers to help.
Step 2
Make a groove in the rice, near the center, and place the condiments and garnishes across it.
Step 3
Using your fingers, moisten the end of the uncovered nori.
Step 4
Roll up tightly with firm pressure, lifting the makisu to keep it on the outside of the roll. Seal the roll with the moistened end, applying light pressure while the makisu is still wrapped around the sushi.
Step 5
Moisten a knife and cut the roll into small slices, then serve.
