Helianthemum: Bach Flower for self-improvement
Bach Flower Roch Rose is made from an aqueous extract of Helianthemum nummularium. Behind this scientific name lies a pretty perennial plant from warm regions: the common helianthemum, also known as yellow helianthemum, rounded-leaved helianthemum or nummular helianthemum. Its narrow, elongated leaves grow in opposite directions on the stem. Hairy, they are white on the underside and green on top.
Yellow helianthemums have very delicate flowers: they only bloom in full sun and rarely last more than a day. They are so fragile that a slight touch is all it takes for their petals to fall off... This semi-rampant plant is much stronger than it looks, however, as it manages to flower in conditions that are difficult to say the least. It can thrive in dry, stony soil, with maximum exposure to the sun's scorching rays. It is therefore not uncommon to see its beautiful, bright yellow, five-petaled flowers bloom in the heart of gravel pits, from June to July. Given its capabilities, yellow helianthemum is also often used to create rock gardens and to brighten up low walls.
