Honeysuckle, the Bach flower of positivity
At the very end of the year, the honeysuckle, Lonicera caprifolium, puts on new leaves, as if to symbolize renewal and the importance of moving forward. Honeysuckle, a member of the Caprifoliaceae family, is a woody climber that grows spontaneously at the edge of woods, and is usually trained as an isolated plant or hedge. Unflappable, honeysuckle is highly prized for its ornamental and olfactory assets, as well as for its hardiness, withstanding temperatures of around -20°C.
In purely botanical terms, honeysuckle can reach four meters in height. It has voluble twigs and deciduous foliage with glaucous undersides and dark green undersides. Its many straw-yellow to white, subtly pink corollas bloom from May to late July, exuding a bewitching perfume that is even more powerful from sunset to sunrise. It's during the night that pollinating insects gather honeysuckle flowers.
