Bach Flower Clematis, for a clear mind
Clematis vitalba, a member of the Ranunculaceae family, is a bushy plant sometimes nicknamed hedge clematis or beggar's weed. It thrives in generous sunlight, provided it has a foot in the shade. It grows spontaneously along watercourses, woodland edges, bushes and forests up to 2,000 m altitude. Robust, it can live up to thirty years.
From a purely botanical point of view, white vine clematis is a sarmentose liana that can reach 20 meters in height. The smooth bark of its branched stems turns yellowish-grey with age, then peels off in strips. Its deciduous, oval, twisted-stalked leaves are medium green. Its greenish-white flowers have spiral carpels and stamens. They bloom from July to September and are very fragrant at the end of the day. Clematis vigne-blanche fruits are silvery achenes bearing a silky feather duster that persists well into winter.
