Chickpea flour

Chickpeas are also known as Garbanzo beans; they have a distinctive nutty flavor and the ability to retain their shape even after cooking.

Traditionally, they were used to make hummus, but are also popular in salads, soups and stews. Excellent source of fiber, protein and iron.

Chickpeas should be part of a vegetarian's diet, as they provide the complete proteins usually found in meat and milk, but without the saturated fat or cholesterol.
