For cast iron: Never expose beeswax directly to a heat source, otherwise it may melt unevenly and burn or scorch. Note that the melting point of beeswax is approximately 63°C.°C (160°F).
In a bain-marie: fill a large pot or the bottom of a bain-marie with 2.5 to 5 cm of water. Bring the water to the boil and reduce the heat to a simmer. Place the beeswax in the bottom of the double boiler or in a smaller pot in the boiling water. Melt slowly, stirring as needed.
Microwave: Place beeswax granules in a microwave-safe glass container. Set the intensity to low (at least 60%). Heat for about 20 seconds, stir and repeat until the wax is completely melted.
