Calendula or Garden Marigold is a flower that grows very easily in Mediterranean regions, where it blooms from April to early December. It also grows wild on wasteland. Sown by the wind, its seeds survive severe cold. Its yellow or orange-yellow flowers are also known for their tinctorial qualities, a yellow dye obtained by decoction that can also be used in the food industry. Marigold is widely used in cosmetics, particularly in hygiene and baby care products, for its soothing and softening properties.
Calendula maceration is traditionally used in phytotherapy to help heal wounds and relieve skin inflammation and irritation. Particularly gentle, it is suitable for the fragile skin of young children (2 years and over). Healing and anti-inflammatory, it's a must-have in any care kit.
