Taurine is a free amino acid found throughout the nervous system, involved in the transport of potassium, sodium, calcium and manganese. It is involved in nerve impulses with GABA and also in the proper functioning of neurotransmitters. A key component of bile, necessary for fat digestion, taurine is also useful for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders, hypertension and hypoglycemia.
