Perennial. Ideally, sow seeds indoors, then transplant when plants have two true leaves and transplant in June or early July (about 6 weeks after sowing seeds). Space plants 12"-18" apart. Seeds can also be sown directly in the garden in late June or July. These plants can tolerate a little shade.
