Organic Chinese Pink Celery

In addition to its attractive hue, Chinese Pink celery from Jardins de l'Écoumène is much easier to grow than European-style green-stemmed celery varieties.  

Eaten raw, pink celery crunches under the tooth with a rather strong, pronounced taste, but becomes tender, sweet and crisp when cooked. Chinese Pink's rich flavor makes it ideal for creating spicy soup bases and broths. Add it raw to salads or as a garnish, and make unusual marinades.

Leaves and stems can be sautéed, braised, boiled in water or fried. Their fragrance complements that of pork, beef, duck, poultry, fish and shrimp, as well as garlic, onion, ginger, mushrooms, potatoes and almonds. 

Pink celery is an excellent source of vitamin K and a good source of potassium, magnesium, calcium, manganese and antioxidants. Its leaves are also rich in vitamin A.
