With its compact habit, it's ideal for small vegetable gardens, allowing fairly dense cultivation and the harvest of a rosette that holds very well. It is, however, a true cutting lettuce, forming new leaves spontaneously after harvesting. Heat-resistant, it is slow to set seed and excels as a summer or autumn lettuce. The cut leaves keep for a very long time.
