Kefir, whose name comes from the Turkish word for "well-being", has a long history of use in the treatment of everything from stomach ulcers to pneumonia. Kefir fruit smoothie
Half a banana
½ cup blueberries
½ cup kefir
Honey optional
Blend until smooth and creamy. Good for a small breakfast or a refreshing snack!
Kefir Dessert
½ cup kefir
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Half an apple, shredded
Crushed pecans
Mix kefir with maple syrup and grated apple. Top with crushed pecans or any other dried fruit or nut.
