An integral part of Peruvian biodiversity, maca is a very special root grown in the high Andes. Maca is an adaptogen, which means it strengthens the body by providing defense mechanisms against stress and fatigue. It is also a great source of vegetable protein, fiber, iron and vitamin C. The Incas used it to improve physical and mental performance.
Prana's organic maca is carefully selected by hand, dehydrated at low temperatures (below 65°C) and then ground into a powder to preserve the integrity of this precious root.
The powder obtained can be added to smoothies, teas, plant milks, coffees, fruit juices, yoghurts, desserts, breads and pastries. Maca is also excellent mixed with cocoa and carob powder.
For regular consumption, 1 to 3 teaspoons a day are recommended, followed by 1 week's abstinence every month.
