Semences Nordiques' organic green-fleshed Montreal melon was grown in Montreal in the late 19th century and up to the Second World War, before losing popularity. Thought to have disappeared altogether, traces of it have now been found in Iowa.

If possible, sow melon seeds indoors up to one month before transplanting (i.e. not before late April in the Outaouais region). Sow one or two seeds per cell or pot. Transplant on warm days and frost-free nights.

Space plants 1-2' apart in the row and 6' between rows. Take care to handle the roots as little as possible when transplanting. Water abundantly after transplanting.
