Semences Nordiques' organic red winter lettuce is an ancestral variety of French origin, which particularly appreciates the spring and autumn climate.
Lettuce can be sown indoors and transplanted, or sown directly in the field. Sow the seeds and barely cover them with potting soil (1/4'') - they need light to germinate but will die if they dry out. Thin or transplant at 12" intervals for a head of lettuce. Lettuce for mesclun can be sown more densely, preferably in rows for easier harvesting.
Based in the hills of the Outaouais region, Semences Nordiques farm offers certified organic and open-pollinated seeds. Carefully selected, top-quality varieties ensure reliable germination rates and vigorous seedlings.
Catherine, owner of Semences Nordiques, sums up the spirit of her company: "Our farm practices reflect a deep respect for nature. We strive to improve the health of our soils, promote biodiversity and preserve our natural resources".
