Organic Siberian Pikeminnow

Jardins de l'Écoumène's organic Siberian caraganier. is a large, fast-growing shrub often used to form hedges. It can survive temperatures as low as -40°C. This drought-, alkaline- and de-icing salt-tolerant shrub does well in drained soils. 

The Siberian caraganier makes an excellent windbreak at the edge of gardens or orchards. Its yellow flowers appear early in the season and taste like peas. As for the pods, while still very young, they can be eaten like beans, while when dried they can be cooked like lentils.
