Description

Enzymes are recognized as the sparks of life, playing a catalytic role in all the body's biochemical activities. Enzymes help us digest food, stimulate the brain and provide energy at cellular level.

Although we consume enzymes from our diet, many of us don't consume sufficient quantities, leading to indigestion and poor absorption of nutrients.

Health First's PrimeZyme is an excellent core complex of full-spectrum digestive enzymes that can help us break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates, fiber and lactose more efficiently. Betaine HCL has been added to aid the digestive environment, especially in the elderly who tend to have low stomach acid.

PrimeZyme should be taken before meals with water. All the enzymes in PrimeZyme come from either plant or bacterial sources, but not from animals.

Digestive enzymes. Help digest proteins. Help reduce gas/flatulence after meals rich in fermentable carbohydrates (especially vegetables, legumes, beans and whole grains).

Free from artificial flavours and colors, gluten, wheat, lactose, dairy products, preservatives, soy, added sugar, yeast and GMOs.

Medicinal ingredients

Each capsule contains :

  • 14 850 FCC HU protease (Fungal protease, Aspergillus flavus var. oryzae - whole)
  • 297 FFC LU lipase (Triacylglycerol lipase, Apergillus niger - whole)
  • 5,940 FCC DU Alpha-amylase (Aspergillus flavus var. oryzae - whole)
  • 120 FCC DU of cellulase (Trichoderma reesel - whole)
  • 75 FCC ALU lactase (Aspergillus flavus var. oryzae - whole)
  • 33,750 FCC PU bromelain (Stem bromelain, Ananas comosus var. comosus - stem)
  • 50 FCC GaIU Alpha-Galactosidase (Aspergillus niger - whole)
  • 50 mg betaine hydrochloride. 
Non-medicinal ingredients

Microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and capsule shell (from bovine gelatin and purified water).

Dosage

Adults (19 years and over): Take 1 capsule daily with a meal or as directed by a health care practitioner. Swallow whole, do not crush or chew. Take with first bite of food.

Recommended duration of use: Up to 12 weeks. For prolonged use, consult a health care practitioner.

Warning

Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have diabetes, galactosemia, gastrointestinal lesions/ulcers, are taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories or other enzyme products, or if you have cardiovascular disease or will undergo surgery. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Known adverse reactions: Hypersensitivity/allergy may occur, in which case discontinue use. Headache, heartburn, bloating and hypersensitivity (e.g. allergy), nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are possible, in which case discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner.
