Recipe: squares with nut butter and jam

Recette : carrés au beurre de noix et confiture - La Boite à Grains



  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose whole-wheat flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2/3 cup natural nut butter of your choice (e.g. peanut butter, cashew butter)
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons maple syrup (to taste)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 jar (235 ml) fruit jam (your choice)



  • Preheat oven to 350 F and grease an 8" square baking sheet.
  • In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, baking soda and salt.
  • In a small bowl, stir the nut butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture is smooth and lumpy.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup of dough for finishing. Spread remaining dough evenly on baking sheet.
  • Spread jam over dough.
  • Crumble dough reserved for top.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden.
  • Cool before cutting into squares.
