Exfoliant pour la peau aux épices d’automne - La Boite à Grains

The skin is a bodily tissue that is constantly regenerating itself. Because of this perpetual renewal, dead cells accumulate on the surface of the epidermis, the skin's superficial layer.

Without exfoliation, the complexion is dull and the skin poorly hydrated. But exfoliation promotes skin oxygenation, enabling healthy, natural cell renewal. The result? A fresh, luminous complexion.

This Autumn Spice Skin Scrub recipe will leave your skin radiant, not to mention comfortingly scented all day long.

Our recipe also features virgin coconut oil, a precious body care ally. For more information on the many uses of coconut oil in beauty, click here.

Ingredients

1 cup of raw cane sugar

¾ cupvirgin coconut oil softened

1 ½ tbsp. ground cinnamon

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon 4-spice blend

½ teaspoon cloves ground

Approach

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, blend all ingredients until you obtain a homogeneous, granular exfoliant.
  2. Place Autumn Spice Skin Scrub in an airtight container.
  3. For a body scrub: Use the exfoliant once or twice a week on the body as follows:
    1. Undress.
    2. Using a glove, brush or dark washcloth, coat ankles and legs with Autumn Spice Skin Scrub. Using circular movements, rub the scrub into the skin, moving your hand upwards.
    3. Continue as follows, up to the neck, taking care to avoid contact with mucous membranes and genitalia.
    4. Step into the shower and rinse off the scrub.
    5. Upon exiting the shower, apply a moisturizer or coconut oil to reap the full benefits of the scrub.
  1. For hand exfoliation :
    1. Place a heaped tablespoon of exfoliating mixture in the palm of one hand.
    2. Spread the mixture evenly over the hands, rubbing every surface of the hand, including the nails and fingertips.
    3. Be careful not to irritate the skin. Stop exfoliating as soon as skin turns red.
    4. Rinse with lukewarm water and moisten hands with a dry towel.
    5. Apply a moisturizing hand cream to reap the full benefits of exfoliation.

Enjoy your scrub!
