Under the sun, every opportunity is good to drink a delicious glass of lemonade. In summer, we consume many foods to cool ourselves without taking into account their high sugar content. This is especially true for children who are constantly offered sugary foods, including lemonade, iced tea, popsicles and cones.
We offer you a recipe for homemade sugar-free lemonade. This lemonade is refreshing, thirst-quenching and healthy. No need to compromise the great taste of traditional lemonade, this sugar-free homemade lemonade recipe has it all!
Preparation: 5 minutes
Servings: 1 liter
Level: Beginner
Culinary tool: High Power Blender1
Ingredients
- 900 ml of cold water
- 4 ice cubes
- 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 ½ lemons squeezed through a juicer)
- 15 drops ofliquid stevia extract
- 1/8 to ¼ cup of xylitol or sweetener with monk fruit2
- 1 sprig of fresh mint to garnish
- Lemon slices to garnish
Approach
Place all ingredients in a high-power blender (except the mint) and blend for 10 seconds. Serve immediately with a sprig of mint and a few slices of lemon.
Store in the refrigerator for 5 days.
Notes
- A high-power blender is not essential for the success of this recipe. However, it ensures the homogeneity of the lemonade. It is possible to make lemonade without this culinary tool. You will then need to stir the lemonade vigorously for a few minutes and stir it again before serving, once refrigerated.
- Start with 1/8 cup of xylitol or monk fruit sweetener and gradually add more to taste. If you are used to drinking a sweeter commercial lemonade, you will like to make the recipe with ¼ cup of xylitol or monk fruit sweetener. Otherwise, 1/8 cup may be enough.
