Absolüt Arnica Gel

A few years ago, I lost six friends in a relatively short space of time - six people who meant a great deal to me. My main mentor, Alfred Vogel, was one of them. The last time I saw him was a week before he left us. We reminisced about the past and his long, full life, full of wonderful experiences. Even at 94, his mind was still alert, and he reminded me of our many visits to the gypsies in the mountains. Each time we were fascinated by the knowledge these people had acquired about herbs, plants and roots.

Indeed, the main characteristic of arnica is that it helps people recover from great fright or shock, just as the plant had recovered immediately after being crushed by Alfred's foot.

Traditionally, arnica is used as a poultice to treat sprains and strains.bruises and wounds, as well as typhoid fevers and paralysis. It's an extraordinary remedy that has long proved beneficial to countless people. Research has shown, however, that Arnica is also a powerful anti-inflammatory when used externally to treat arthritis.

In Canada, one adult in seven suffers from some form of arthritis or rheumatism.. Inflammation, a common symptom, is often accompanied by intense pain, which in turn can lead to other problems, such as loss of sleep. Inflammation is the body's natural response to injury, sending increased blood flow to the tissues of the affected area. As a result, the affected area tends to become red and painful.

Arnica (mountain arnica) is a perennial plant native to the forests and mountain pastures of Central Europe, and is a protected species in some European regions. The plant is characterized by its long green leaves, orange-yellow flowers and dark-brown roots; only fresh flowers are used to make Absolüt Arnica gel.
