Mumm’s, une référence dans les germinations biologiques - La Boite à Grains

Mumm's Sprouting Seeds is a fine family story that began in the mid-70s in Saskatchewan. Maggie and Jim Mumm, who had a small organic farm, decided to grow alfalfa seeds. After a period of testing and perfecting their techniques, the idea of entering the market on a larger scale was born, coinciding with the official creation of the company in 1982.

Over 40 years later, Mumm's Sprouting Seeds is a successful company, with around 20 employees and over 90 varieties of organic sprouting seeds distributed throughout North America and beyond. A fine reference for your homemade sprouts and microgreens.

Mumm's, the highest standards of quality

"Saskatchewan offers an excellent climate for producing hardy and robust sprouting seeds" says Maggie Mumm. "Demand is high, and our farm could no longer meet it alone. So we partnered with several organic farms in Saskatchewan, and also in other places for varieties that require a different kind of climate." explains Lisa Mumm, daughter of the founding couple, who actively joined the company in 2012.

All batches of Mumm's organic seeds and microfoams organic seeds and micro pods undergo rigorous quality testing, including color, taste, appearance and mold levels. All Mumm's partner farmers adhere to the same quality criteria, whether for the most popular varieties, such as alfalfa, sunflower and broccolior more unusual varieties, such as the ancient oriental blend.

Mumm's, organic and nothing but organic

As pioneers of organic farming in Saskatchewan, Mumm's has gradually become an industry role model, and is eager to help other farmers and operations make the transition to organic. "We're big believers in organic. The world will surely be a healthier place when organic becomes even more prominent." says Lisa Mumm.
