Pumpkin Hummus
Halloween night is always full of excitement and fun. Eager to shop around for candy, the children devour dinner in no time. This is why a free lunch featuring healthy and tasty foods proves to be a practical and winning solution.
This pumpkin hummus is exactly what you need to put on the table for a quick, simple and healthy Halloween meal. Accompanied by raw vegetables and crackers, it will delight everyone on the evening of October 31 or during your next Halloween evening with friends.
Preparation: 20 minutes
Culinary tools: high-powered food processor or blender
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups of cooked chickpeas
- ½ cup of sesame butter (tahini)
- 1 cup of pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons d’huile d’olive + a net to serve
- 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt
- 1 pinch each of the following ground spices: ginger, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg.
Approach
- Place the chickpeas, the sesame butter, the pumpkin puree and olive oil in the container of the food processor or blender. If you use a blender (blender), turn on the puree mode and start grinding the pumpkin hummus on low power, slowly increasing to high power. If necessary, use a wooden spoon to direct the ingredients downward.
- Once the mixture is well combined, add the seasonings including apple cider vinegar, the maple syrup, the salt and spices.
- Grind again to even out the taste of the pumpkin hummus.
- Pour the pumpkin hummus into a medium bowl or small hollowed out pumpkin and drizzle with olive oil.
- Serve with raw vegetables, apple slices, crackers.

Bonjour Line,
Ce hummus à la citrouille se conservera 5 à 7 jours au réfrigérateur, malgré que l’idéal soit de ne pas dépasser 3 jours.
Il est possible de le congeler oui, comme tous les autres hummus. Après la congélation, il suffit parfois de repasser le hummus au robot culinaire ou au mélangeur afin de lui redonner sa belle texture lisse, si la texture a changé.
