Iced Gin
A twist on the traditional gin and tonic, this frosted gin recipe features sugar-free ingredients to create a luscious cocktail with delicious winter flavours. Enjoy in moderation.
Servings : 6 glasses
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 6 cloves
- 1 star of anise
- Ice cubes
- 6 ounces of gin (preferably a local gin)
- 1 bottle of unflavored carbonated spring water
- 2 cans of tonic soda
- Fresh cranberries
Approach
- In a cocktail shaker, vigorously blend lemon juice, juniper berries and gin.
- Pour the mixture into 6 cocktail glasses.
- Fill glasses with equal parts carbonated spring water and tonic soda.
- Garnish with fresh cranberries.
Chocolate Mint Eggnog
A classic that is hard to live without during the holiday season. There are several vegan versions on the market, but no sugar-free version is available yet. So here's ours, perfectly succulent and just right for the vacations.
Ingredients
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 tablespoons of Swerve granulated sweetener
- A pinch of dry ground nutmeg
- 3 cups of unsweetened vanilla-flavoured vegetable almond drink
- 3 drops of peppermint essential oil
- 1/4 cup of rum
For the whipped cream
- ¾ cup of 35% organic whipping cream or coconut whipping cream for a vegan version
- 1 teaspoon of Swerve granulated sweetener
For topping
- A pinch of dry ground nutmeg
- A piece of dark chocolate without sugar
Approach
- In a medium bowl, mix in the egg yolks, the Swerve® granulated sweetener Granulated Sweetener and ground nutmeg.
- In a saucepan, heat the unsweetened vanilla-flavoured vegetable drink in a saucepan. until simmering.
- Remove from heat.
- Gradually add the heated vegetable drink to the egg mixture, stirring constantly. It is essential to add the hot liquid gradually so as not to cook the egg yolk.
- OptionalFor cooked eggnog, transfer the liquid to the saucepan and heat until the eggnog reaches a temperature of 160 o Remove from heat.
- Add peppermint essential oil and rum. Stir vigorously and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
- Prepare the whipped cream by mixing all the ingredients in a large bowl that has been cooled. Whip with a hand mixer or stand mixer to make the cream rise. Refrigerate.
- To serve: Place a few ice cubes in cocktail glasses. Pour in mint eggnog. Top with whipped cream, lemon juice, chocolate and a pinch of nutmeg.
Christmas Spice Iced Tea
This iced tea (herbal tea) recipe is a great alternative to the famous sweet fruit punch that is often served at holiday parties. Keep this Christmas spice iced tea on display to encourage guests to stay hydrated and cut down on their alcohol intake. This spiced iced tea is sure to please adults and children alike, who will appreciate having a very special beverage in honor of Christmas.
Servings: 2 liters of Christmas Spice Iced Tea
Triple the recipe to fill a punch bowl
Ingredients
- 2 liters of hot water
- 3 tablespoons of rooibos tea
- 1 tablespoon ofSwerve granulated sweetener
- 3-4 stars of anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Grapefruit and orange slices
Approach
- Infuse the rooibos tea in the two liters of hot water. Let stand for about ten minutes.
- Sift the tea. Add theSwerve® granulated sweetener. Stir vigorously to dissolve crystals.
- Add anise stars and cinnamon sticks.
- Chill for a few hours in the refrigerator.
- Just before serving, garnish with orange and grapefruit slices.
