The holiday season is here! It's time to get the household ready to feast with our loved ones. Over the next few days, many will be doing last-minute shopping to stock the fridge. That means it's time to get out the recipe ideas for meals, and beverages too!
Every good New Year's Eve party includes festive cocktails. La Boîte à Grains offers three recipes to try this year. All are easy to make and can be prepared without alcohol.

Holiday Floral Mousseux
To Prepare: 5 minutes
Cooking Time : No
Portions : 8 champagne flutes of festive floral sparkling wine
Ingredients
- 1 bottle sparkling mead or rosé prosecco (for a non-alcoholic version, opt for a dealcoholized product)
- Rose and Hibiscus floral extract from Wild Hibiscus
- A few fresh cranberries
- 8 anise stars
- 1 large sprig rosemary
Procedure
- Place the contents of a pipette of Wild Hibiscus rose floral extract in 8 champagne flutes.
- Fill glasses with sparkling mead or rosé prosecco.
- Garnish with a few cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.
Warm white wine with Christmas spices
To Prepare : 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6 cups mulled white wine with Christmas spices
Ingredients
- 1 bottle organic white wine (for a non-alcoholic version, opt for a dealcoholized product)
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon orange oil from Laboratoires deMonceaux
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 4 anise stars
- 4 cloves
- orange slices for garnish
Approach
- Place all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan.
- Bring to the boil and reduce heat. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes, uncovered.
- Strain and pour mulled wine into 6 cups.
- Garnish with a slice of orange and serve hot.
Vanilla eggnog with probiotics
To Prepare: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 6 minutes
Servings: 1,25 L vanilla eggnog with probiotics
Refrigeration: 4 hours
Culinary Tools: Vitamix or other high-powered blender*
Ingredients
- 4 free-range eggs
- 1/3 cup of natural turbinado cane sugar
- 1/3 cup dark rum (omit for a non-alcoholic version)
- 4 cups organic milk
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 1 cup of Bio-K probiotic beverage with vanilla
Approach
- Place the eggs, cane sugar and rum in the Vitamix liquid container. Turn to maximum power and cook for 4 minutes.
- Add milk, spices and vanilla essence. Blend at high power for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Refrigerate eggnog.
- Just before serving, return the eggnog to the Vitamix and add the cup of Bio-K probiotics with vanilla. Blend for 30 seconds. Avoid overheating probiotics.
- Pour into cups and sprinkle with ground cinnamon, or store eggnog in the refrigerator for 2 days.
*Using a Vitamix brand blender allows you to reach a higher temperature, which ensures that the eggs are cooked. If you use another type of blender, the eggs may remain raw.
