Alexandre's favorite

Talking to Alexandre about food and his favorite foods is guaranteed to be an enthusiastic and passionate conversation. A food lover, "Alex" is General Manager of La Boite à Grainsand officiates at our supermarket supermarket since 2010. A jack-of-all-trades and entrepreneur at heart, his energy is infectious. With Alexandre, ideas fly, and so do projects. Ask him for a favorite, and he'll give you ten.

Here's his current favorite: vegan poul'et wings from Canadian company Sol Cuisine.

Why Sol Cuisine plant-based poul'et wings?

It's a tasty product, made from soy protein. These vegan "wings" have the taste, texture and even the shape of traditional chicken wings. The ingredients are simple, nutritious, easy to pronounce, and there's none of that deep-fried smell when you cook them. It's a real success.

Do you have any suggestions for side dishes?

A creamy coleslaw! It's easy to make at home and enjoy a nice family meal.

Let's talk about food. Do you have a favorite meal of the day?

I'd have to say all of them! But dinner takes precedence over the others, because I have more time to cook and prepare good food. Egg Roll in a Bowl" and homemade pizzas are among my guilty pleasures. I eat them almost every week!

What does healthy eating mean to you?

A healthy diet means taking the time to cook good food, avoiding processed products as much as possible. We sometimes underestimate vegetables and their ability to add taste and color to our plates.

Of course, I always go for organic and local produce. We have some great farms in the region to enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables.

Do you have any healthy habits to share?

I have three. At lunchtime, I eat healthy salads.

I've started drinking tea and herbal teas more often, replacing the sparkling water I used to drink.

I exercise every day. In the morning, I start my day with a run - it's magical!
