Ingredients
- 1 package of unflavored firm tofu
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 2 teaspoons tapioca starch
- Sesame seedsfresh coriander and green onions to serve
Approach
- Unwrap the tofu brick and wrap it in a clean towel. Place a heavy object on top to drain the water from the tofu for ten minutes.
- In the meantime, combine the garlic, ginger, orange juice, salt and pepper. rice vinegarand honey and tapioca starch in a medium bowl. Whisk and set aside.
- Cut tofu into ½ inch x ½ inch cubes.
- Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When the pan is very hot, add the tofu cubes and stir constantly with a silicone or wooden spatula.
- When tofu cubes are golden brown, stir in orange sauce. Continue stirring continuously.
- The orange tofu is ready when the sauce has stuck to the tofu cubes.
- Serve with sesame seedsfresh coriander and/or green onions with basmati rice, vermicelli or stir-fried vegetables.
